online betting sites

Nowadays on the internet there are a whole load of bookmakers. Bookmakers that until the advent of the internet and home computers with internet capabilities we as punters never had access too.

The big high street bookmakers in the UK, William Hill, Coral and Ladbrokes all obviously have online sites. Then there are the bookies that only operate online like Bet365. This is the site i use all the time, just because i am familiar with it.

All these sites i believe are easy to use and offer a wide selection of bets some whch you might not even be aware of. On these sites you can also bet in play on football matches that are being played all over the world. This is starting to come in to high street bookies aswell.

With all these betting sites in operation there is the opportunity to compare odds on the team or teams you want to bet on and place your bet with the bookie that has the best odds, so you can get the best price and therefore the more money back. If you are wanting to do this then check out odds comparison sites. Just type in odds comparison in a search engine there are a few around.

With the explosion in online gambling and traditional sports bookmakers branching out into onlnine gaming and casino games, up popped the betting exchanges like betfair and bet daq.

I have used these type of sites before and they offer the better odds. For those who dont know a betting exchange is a site where you in essence are the bookie and your bet is matched up against someone else who believes the opposite to what you are betting. For example if you thought Liverpool will win a game and thus you back them to win but someone else thinks that they wont and is thus laying them, (backing against a Liverpool win) then your bet will be matched with theirs. You wll win your opponents stake if you win. If you lose you lose your stake.

Betting exchanges are very popular and have changed the way people now bet. I think this is because some punters like to play the bookie sometime.

But even though there are alot of good online bookmakers, it is important to be aware of the lesser known ones or the newer ones. Although i have never had a problem with an online bookie, mainly because i only use Bet365, i have heard of people who have placed a bet abd won but never got there payout.

Before placing a bet wih a company you have not heard check with the gambling commission to see if they have registered with them and have been found to be reputable. You can do this by going to their website, www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk there you can find ways to contact them and find out if the site or company has a registered licence with them. All bookmakers that want to operate in the UK have to have that licence.
